How to use YouTube popular video rankings for content planning

YouTube video rankings help you review popular YouTube videos by country, category, and Shorts type. You can select a country, video category, and chart type to see which videos are getting attention in the saved chart data.

Popular video rankings can support content planning, title ideas, topic analysis, Shorts research, and category trend review. Instead of looking only at rank, it helps to compare titles, video length, topics, and audience interest together.

YouTube video rankings data is based on the YouTube Data API. The displayed videos can change by country, category, and update time, and the chart does not represent every video's full performance or all viewer data.

YouTube video rankings FAQs

Is this an official YouTube view-count ranking?

No. The chart is based on saved YouTube Data API popular video results. It is a practical saved chart view, not an official YouTube ranking by total views.

Is the data real time?

No. Chart data is collected once per day and stored as static JSON, so page views and filter changes do not fetch live YouTube data.

Does each page view call the YouTube API?

No. Visitors browse saved chart JSON files. The page does not call the YouTube Data API for every view or filter change.
